What is Toorshi Foods?
Toorshi Foods is a new family-operated business.
Toorshi is the Armenian word for “pickles”. Many Balkan, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Persian languages use the same or a similar word.
For more than fifty years, the Vartanian family has been making and sharing a variety of homestyle pickled products with family and friends, using a special recipe. Now they are producing larger quantities in a new pickling facility, which means these products are available for all to enjoy and savour.
Pickled products sold by Toorshi Foods
All products are made in our pickling facility, which includes a health-inspected kitchen. We use our special brine, created from an old Armenian family recipe, with only natural ingredients. There are no chemical preservatives or additives.
Our products have unique flavours:
1. Savoury Mixed Vegetables (1 litre jar) – Pickled mixed vegetables including cauliflower, green peppers, red peppers, yellow peppers, celery, carrots, sliced cucumbers, garlic.
2. Hot & Savoury Mixed Vegetables (1 litre jar) – Same as Savoury Mixed Vegetables, but with Thai chili peppers added (one of the ten hottest peppers in the world!)
3. Tangy Turnips (1 litre jar) – Pickled turnips with beets and ground mustard seeds, a Middle Eastern Specialty.
4. *Original Cucumbers (1 litre jar) – Crunchy, great-tasting pickles made with our secret family brine.
5. *Savoury Garlic Cucumbers (1 litre jar) – Same as above with garlic added.
6. *Hot & Savoury Cucumbers (1 litre jar) – Same as the garlic cucumbers with Thai chili peppers added

7. Hot & Savoury Pickled Green Beans (500ml. jar) - Zesty and crunchy pickled green beans with mustard seeds, dill seeds, garlic and Thai chili peppers. A great snack right out of the jar or the perfect garnish for your Caesar or Dirty Martini!
8. Savoury Beets (1 litre or 500ml. jar) - Pickled beets like you've never tasted before! Seasoned with ground mustard seeds to create our unique flavour.
9. Savoury Cauliflower - Delicious bite size pieces of Cauliflower in our brine, beautifully coloured (all-naturally) like you've never seen before!
10. Hot & Savoury Cauliflower - Our delicious Savoury Cauliflower with Thai Chilies added.
11. * Pickled Garlic (125 ml. jar) - Consists of approximately 25 cloves in our brine...crush it and spread it on a sandwich, good for cooking or eat them right out of the jar!
12. * Pickled Thai Chili Peppers (125 ml. jar) - Baby tidbits of fire!
Great for adding heat to your dishes and if you're adventurous, they taste
great too! *** Be forewarned...Thai Chilis are one of the ten hottest peppers in the world!
13. Toorshi Sweetfire Beets (1litre and 500 ml jars) - Our delicious Savoury Beets with Thai Chile heat added!
